Step By Step Guide to Take WordPress Backup
It is a complete guide which tells you how to take backup of WordPress blog and how to restore it when you are going to change your server or you need to restore your website on the same server due to data damage.
1.Database Backup
To take database backup we will not recommend you to take it via phpMyAdmin. You must use following plugin to take database backup safely.
WP DB Backup
It is the best plugin which create database dump file to restore it without any bug. Install this plugin, generate backup and download it at a safe place in your PC.
Also create a WordPress XML file backup
You can create it via tools > Export
Need to create XML file- Sometime database backup does not work and in this condition XML file is the only way to restore database. So you must create XML export file. It is also important if your blog is hacked and infection is a sql injection.
2.WordPress files backup
- Login to your web hosting control panel > File manager ( Read How to use Hosting File Manager )
- Here create the zip file of your entire WordPress folder
- Download this compressed file to your PC
Or
Use BackWPUp
Install this plugin, create a Job to take backup of WordPress files and folders ( Additionally you can create Database and WP XML file backup with it ). Download the archive to your PC.
Warning- Must check the downloaded archive after downloading. If the archive is extracted successfully, it means your backup is successful.
Note-If your Host does not support BackWpUp and zip archiving then use XCloner plugin to backup files ( do not try XCloner restore operation because it requires InnoDB which is not available in most of shared hosting ).

Hello,
Great post… Some of the important things about your WordPress backup is that you store your backups outside your hosting account and that you workout a great backup strategy for automatic backups…
I've described a good mix of daily, weekly and monthly backups with auto-deletion of old backup archives in my WordPress Backup article.
On the WordPress Security site you can also download a free, comprehensive WordPress Security Checklist, which will help just about everyone improve their security…
Just my two cents… keep up the great work!
